A2 Road Closure 19-22 Nov - Brenley to Canterbury
A2 BOUGHTON AND DUNKIRK CONCRETE REPAIRS
Upcoming closures to the A2 Eastbound and Westbound carriageway between Boughton and Dunkirk. Work will involve full depth concrete treatment including crack repairs and new surfacing.
For the safety of our workforce and road-users, we’ll be closing the A2 carriageway separately between M2 Junction 7 Brenley Corner and the A28 at Canterbury and A2050 Canterbury off slip.
When the carriageway closures are in place residents and businesses that have direct access to their properties off the closed carriageway will be accommodated by the escort service. There will be no escort through the works to access the open carriageway. Please note there may be a slight wait for the escort vehicle and our operatives will be wearing body cameras and CCTV footage will be in place for the safety of the public and workforce from errant vehicles and anti-social behaviour.
Please note that when being escorted there is a 15mph speed limit in place and 5mph speed limit when passing the works area for the safety of the public and workforce.
Eastbound Closure Dates:
8.00pm Friday 19 November 2021 to 6.00am Monday 22 November 2021
8.00pm Friday 26 November 2021 to 6.00am Monday 29 November 2021
The east deck of the Brenley Corner roundabout will be closed.
Eastbound Escort Point – Please make your way via south on Thanet Way to join Brenley Lane, turn left onto Nine Ash Lane, then right onto Canterbury Road, follow The Street, leading you back onto Canterbury Road to the escort point (residents, hotel staff and guests and services staff).
Access for residents into Boughton Under Blean and Dunkirk will be via Staple Street where there is a gated closure to allow access. When coming from London way please utilise Homestall Lane and Whitstable Road.
Please note: The A2 eastbound exit slip onto the A2050 to Canterbury will be closed for every closure. For local access to Canterbury, please follow the A2 and take the slip road signed Bridge, turn right onto Brifrons Hill, then right onto Bekesbourne Road, then right onto the High Street, to re-join the A2 London bound, to then exit for the A28 into Canterbury.
The emergency services have been advised that there will be no access through the closures via the A2. There will also be an emergency services only diversion into Boughton-under-Blean.
